I dream of a better world, a world where humanity is united in caring for each other and for our beautiful planet; a world where everyone has enough and is well cared for.
This better world is not only possible, but it already exists, in hearts of those who believe it is possible. It lives inside everyone who wants an end to war, poverty, suffering and injustice everywhere. And it shines brightly in the eyes of little children.
A better world doesn’t ask for bloodshed or revolution; and it doesn’t ask for fancy, multi-billion dollar solutions. Your creativity – the human ingenuity that lives in each and every one of us – and the willingness to help, is all that is required. And each of us has both in infinite quantities.
We cannot build a better world by repeating the mistakes of the past. So we must be willing to learn and to embrace new ideas.
We cannot build a better a world without letting go of old hurts and grievances. So we must be willing to draw a line in the sand and make a new start, while expecting better things to happen from now on.
We cannot build a better world without believing in our power and ability to make a difference. The same Force or Consciousness that created all the miracles of this entire Universe created us, and endowed each of us with Its great powers of thought, imagination, creativity and resilience. It is these things that we must come to rely on, when seeking to build a better world. So we must each acknowledge our own greatness and that of others and strive from there. There is no room for playing small.
And we cannot build a better world without understanding that with all this great power comes great responsibility – responsibility to act. So we must all do what we can from where we are, now.
It’s more than enough if we only do what we can to change ourselves for the better. Our universe is holographic. The part contains the whole and so, when the part changes, the whole must changes with it.
All you need to do is what you can, from where you are. But act now. Do something – one thing – that makes you feel good about who you are and what you’re adding to this world. Be nice to someone, help someone, learn a new skill, teach your child something positive, tip the waiter a little more, forgive someone, call someone you’ve been meaning to call, smile at a stranger, hug a child. Anything. And then repeat.
Please understand that little things when added up result in BIG changes. The biggest ocean is made up of little droplets. There are over seven billion of us, just imagine what we can achieve together.
We are all so powerful and our creativity and ingenuity are limitless. There is no problem that is too great for us to solve or overcome. And when we come together in the spirit of love, solidarity, cooperation and mutual respect, we can accomplish anything.
So let’s dream, let’s believe, let’s act, and together achieve, the better world that is calling out to us every day.
I believe in a better world. Do you?
