2015 is done and dusted and we are into our second day of 2016. It makes this post a little late in coming, but here it is nevertheless.
Looking back at 2015, there are several themes that seem to stick out for me:
It seemed to be the year of reconnecting, both with other people and certain aspects of myself.
The year saw me getting back in touch with several close friends I’d lost touch with over the years. It also saw me healing a few important relationships that had become strained of late.
2015 also gave me a glimpse of what it might be like to reconnect with loved ones who have passed over to the other side, as I had a few experiences where I could honestly say I felt the presence of my late brother and father (more on this in subsequent posts).
A Year of ‘Firsts’
2015 was the year of many firsts for me as I took my first ever cruise and travelled to the Caribbean for the first time.
I also launched my first ‘real’ book and information product (and watched with great delight as it went briefly to number one in the ‘Study Skills’ category on Amazon’s Kindle Charts).
2015 was also the first time that writing appeared in a newspaper (not counting an irate letter to the editor written several years ago). This was made extra special in that the publication of my words elicited a very positive response from a reader.
2015 was a landmark year in terms of my actually earning any money through my writing, thanks to the book and a paid course that my wife and I produced (more details to follow).
Improved Relationship with Money
My relationship with money had been in an awful state for some years. My thoughts and beliefs on the subject started improving over the past year (thanks to some ‘inner work’–mostly in terms of letting go of a lot of negativity and the need control how the money should come) and I made some good progress over the past year. The result was the I saw money coming from several unexpected sources that included a payout on mis-sold insurance, several tutoring clients and the client who requested the course referred to above.
While there is definitely room for improvement, these events have clearly demonstrated to me that the less I worry or try to control (or figure out ‘how’), the more money I can draw to myself — effortlessly and from varied sources.
It is interesting to note that the sums from these unexpected sources, vastly exceed my earnings in terms of book royalties!!
2015 The Teacher
It might seem to you like 2015 has been a year of continuous highs for me, but it wasn’t. It was actually quite a ‘bumpy’ year — with some fairly uncomfortable lows. It humbled me and showed me that I had plenty of ‘opportunities for growth,’ particularly around the subjects of money, death of loved ones, anger at the control system and on taking better care of my health.
Looking ahead to 2016, I will definitely be taking up those opportunities for growth that I mentioned above.
I see myself devoting a lot of my time to developing my knowledge of spirituality, esoteric teachings and ‘frontier science’ and putting what I learn into practice. I am definitely sold on the idea of ‘doing without doing‘ and in tapping into the power of the unseen and see this as the way forward.
I see myself making more progress with my writing–releasing more titles and reaching a wider audience.
And of course, I see myself travelling more, having more fun and enjoying life even more!
Additionally, 2016 holds a lot of promise as it seems to be a year of ‘things coming together’.
I have been on this journey of self-discovery and living more consciously since 2009 or so. I changed so much of my life as a result of the new information and beliefs that I was taking in. While life was always good, changing from the old ways to the new seemed like a struggle at times and apart from the greater clarity and inner peace I felt, there was little in the way of external support, validation or results. However, notwithstanding all it’s bumpiness, 2015 saw the tide turn and I have the strong sense that 2016 will see this trend accelerating. And I don’t seem to be the only one feeling this way (look at what Bentinho Massaro and Gustavo Tanaka have to say).
It seems that the times, they are a changing : )
So here’s to a wonderful year for all of us. May it see each and every one of us growing and realising our truest potential and our wildest dreams!
Thank you so much for being a part of my journey and for your love and support!
I wish you a very happy year!
